Washington State University Vancouver will host a panel titled, “Gender Equity in the Workforce: Breaking the Glass Ceiling” next month.
Sponsored by the American Democracy Project, the free event will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3 in Undergraduate Classroom Building, Room 1.
The American Democracy Project is a multi-campus initiative to promote civic engagement and the democratic process. WSU Vancouver has been part of the project since 2012.
The event will open with a presentation by Amy Wharton, academic director of WSU Vancouver’s College of Arts and Sciences. Her presentation will be followed by a panel featuring female leaders from nonprofit and for-profit organizations who will discuss personal successes as well as the barriers they have faced in rising to positions of influence. An opportunity for questions from the audience and a reception will follow.
The event coincides with women’s history month.
