The popular quick-service restaurant chain Chick-fil-A is coming to Southwest Washington, as the Atlanta-based company continues to expand in the Portland area.
The company, which operates more than 1,900 restaurants across the country, plans to open its first Vancouver restaurant this fall at 719 SE 164th Avenue, near the intersection of 164th and Mill Plain.
Jackie Jags, a spokesperson for the company, confirmed the timing of the new location but did not reveal when construction would begin.
According to a recently-issued building permit from the city of Vancouver, the new restaurant building will be 4,526 square feet in size and will feature a drive-thru.
When it opens, the Vancouver restaurant will become the third Chick-fil-A to open in the Portland area this year; A Hillsboro location opened last week, and a Clackamas location is set to open later this month.
“We’re excited to continue serving Chick-fil-A fans in the Pacific Northwest and earn our place in the Vancouver community,” said Jags.
Both Oregon restaurants will partner with regional farmers and suppliers to source some locally- and regionally-grown ingredients. For example, the restaurants will get their bread from Portland-based Franz Bakery, and all potatoes will come from the Columbia River Basin. Additionally, Chick-fil-A is collaborating with national and regional poultry suppliers to serve chicken raised without antibiotics in all its restaurants in the U.S. by 2019.
The company plans to open more than 90 new restaurants across the nation in 2016, creating more than 8,000 new jobs. Restaurants in Bellevue, Lynnwood and Tacoma opened last year.
