The Vancouver Clinic (TVC) is bringing a new facility to one of Washington state’s fastest growing cities.
On Wednesday afternoon, the clinic announced that it has finalized the purchase of 2.53 acres of land at 5515 Pioneer Street in Ridgefield (along the first roundabout west of I-5).
The land deal paves the way for TVC to construct a new facility that it said will accommodate 10,000 square feet of finished clinical space with eight primary care providers and 16 staff members at initial build-out.
“The Vancouver Clinic has provided care in Southwest Washington for 80 years,” said Mark Mantei, CEO of The Vancouver Clinic, in a press release. “As Clark County grows, we want to continue expanding locations to provide the very best care close to where people live and work.”
According to Chastell Ely, director of marketing and strategic communications for the clinic, the new facility will initially focus on primary care with room to expand the building from 10,000 square feet up to 30,000 square feet. She added that any eventual expansion will be based on usage.
“We want to have the ability to meet the demand of our patients and their health needs,” said Ely. “We will initially provide primary care with seamless continuity of care access to specialty care at our nearby locations. Any additional services will be determined on the basis of patient need.”
Dr. Alfred Seekamp, chief medical officer for TVC, said Ridgefield represents a location that will allow the clinic to meet the primary health needs of North Clark County residents.
“It’s really exciting to expand services into Ridgefield and provide the best, most comprehensive health care for people of all ages and stages of life,” said Seekamp.
Ely added that the decision to open a clinic in Ridgefield comes after several years of watching growth trends in Clark County.
The city of Ridgefield has been one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Washington in recent years, and Mayor Ron Onslow said The Vancouver Clinic will be a welcome addition.
“Expanded healthcare services are needed for our growing community,” he said.
The $6.7 million project is expected to open in 2018.
