Two new restaurants have been added to the lineup at ilani, the $510 million entertainment and gaming facility currently under construction west of the I-5 La Center Exit.
Announced on Thursday, the new eateries are Rose & Thorn, a high-end bar and restaurant serving upscale international street food, and Longhouse, a raw bar, sushi and noodle shop.
Word of the new restaurants comes just days after ilani announced that a Michael Jordan’s Steak House and a Pacific Northwest-inspired restaurant called Line & Lure Seafood Kitchen and Tap will be welcoming guests when the resort opens next month.
“The addition of these two restaurants (Rose & Thorn and Longhouse) allows us the ability to have something for everyone at ilani,” said Kara Fox-LaRose, ilani’s general manager, in a press release. “Both dining options boast impressive menus with unique flavors, and we are excited to welcome them to the property.”
With seating for 225, Rose & Thorn will feature six ‘al pastor’ spindles cooking meats over an open flame at one end of the main bar. The opposite end of the bar will feature a stylish dessert finishing station. The restaurant’s menu will include locally-sourced ingredients, including steam-kettle-roasted seafood from the Pacific Northwest. The bar will also feature two dozen beers on draft, including local and craft brews.
Longhouse will offer guests handcrafted sushi from the Pacific Northwest, authentic handmade noodle dishes and signature meatballs. An expansive bar will extend 40 feet through the restaurant to accommodate up to 42 patrons. An array of Asian and craft beers and signature craft cocktails will also be available.
“We are proud to have been selected as two of the elite restaurants within ilani,” said Shawn Ellis, founder and CEO of Rose & Thorn and Longhouse. “The location and setting of Rose & Thorn will allow us to showcase our unique twist on upscale handmade craft cocktails and homemade finished desserts, while the Longhouse boasts a more casual vibe with fresh sushi and seafood offerings. We are excited to share both with the guests of Ilani and look forward to the grand opening in the spring.”
