Goodbye Vancouver USA, hello iQ
Folks may or may not have noticed the absence of the rotating green Vancouver USA, sign atop the former city Citizens Service Center, 1313 Main St.
iQ Credit Union bought the building, along with the adjacent Eberle Building, this summer with plans to relocate its corporate headquarters, business lending and business services departments and the City Branch to the downtown site.
The sign is down to get new gears and belts – and to have the dated Vancouver USA, sign replaced with the credit union’s trademark red logo.
It is set to be back atop the building, still delivering the time and temperature on the other side, in December, said Danette LaChapelle, the credit union’s senior vice president of marketing.
LaChapelle said there has been no community feedback about the change – yet.
Wells Fargo named top lender locally, nationally
Wells Fargo remains on top of the small business lenders scene, with recently released data revealing it as the number one small business lender in the U.S., the Vancouver area, Washington and 17 other states.
Wells Fargo had a 15.9 percent year-over-year lending increase locally, according to the bank’s report on data from the 2006 Community Reinvestment Act.
For small businesses in the Vancouver-Portland metro area, Wells Fargo extended 13,428 loans of less than $100,000. Total lending in the metro area was $344.6 million in 2006. Break-out data for Vancouver or Clark County were not included in the report.
Lacamas CU presents donations
Lacamas Community Credit Union recently presented $3,500 in donations to two local community organizations.
The credit union’s community partnership fund provided $2,500 to the Camas-Washougal Community Chest, an organization that distributes funds among other local charities. A donation of $1,000 went to the Skamania Schools Parent-Teacher Organization.
The credit union raises funds for charitable
ontributions through bank activities including Entertainment Book sales and Skip-A-Payment
programs. The Lacamas community partnership fund
gives to different community groups each quarter.
