Great Floors acquires Michael’s Floor Covering in Vancouver

Great Floors, LLC, has expanded its Northwest footprint with the purchase of Michael’s Floor Covering, Inc., in Vancouver. With this acquisition, Great Floors now covers the I-5 corridor in Western Washington with 12 locations stretching from Canada to the Oregon border.

The two companies are a perfect fit, according to Great Floors President and CEO Doug Chadderdon.

“Both are family owned businesses with a reputation of exemplary service to the individuals and businesses in the communities we serve,” Chadderdon said. “And both strive to create long-term relationships, rather than one-time sales, with our builder, commercial and retail customers.”

“After serving the Vancouver and Portland area for nearly a decade, we look forward to introducing our customers to the Great Floors family of companies and the expertise and product knowledge they bring to our market,” said Michael’s founder Mike Haasl.

While the name will change and Great Floors’ buying power will benefit Michael’s customers, Haasl said the products and services that Vancouver customers have grown to expect will continue unaffected by the acquisition.

Michael’s Floor Covering, Inc., has been providing floor covering and installation services to the greater Vancouver and Portland area since 2010, and have been proud to deal with the region’s top home builders and general contractors during that time.

Earlier this year Great Floors opened a location in Bozeman, Mont. Great Floors has been serving customers in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 50 years. With more than 500 employees, their operations now reach from Bozeman, Mont., to Seattle.

In Washington state, Great Floors offers 10 Puget Sound locations stretching from Bellingham to Lacey, three stores in the Spokane metro area and locations in the Tri-Cities, Yakima and now Vancouver. In Idaho, Great Floors operates stores in Coeur d’Alene, also home to their corporate offices, and Meridian. We produce countertops and perform kitchen/bath design at our company-owned granite production facility in Post Falls, Idaho.
