ACE announces mixed-use development
A mixed-use development is on its way to Fruit Valley Road and Firestone Way in Vancouver. Affordable Community Environments announced the project with a ceremony at the site May 9. The Vancouver-based nonprofit will break ground on the project in 2009 with plans to open in 2010. The development will include 48 housing units, a Boys and Girls Club facility and the ACE headquarters.
Affordable Community Environments works to provide accessible, affordable housing with community support services in Southwest Washington.
HUD senior homes open in Vancouver
Highland Park Apartments opened April 24 in Vancouver for low-income senior citizens.
The $6.9 million complex is located on 2.4 acres in the Van Mall neighborhood at 5015 N.E. 66th Ave. Vancouver-based Columbia Non-profit Housing is the project sponsor. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development contributed $5.7 million to the development, the Washington Housing Trust Fund provided $812,000 and Clark County gave $380,000.
Portland-based Walsh Construction Co. was general contractor, working with Portland-based Andrews Architects and Spokane-based G+B Real Estate Services. The Vancouver Housing Authority is handling the property management.
