Wells Fargo promotes Vancouver resident to SBA manager

Wells Fargo’s SBA Lending Group has promoted Vancouver resident Steve Johnson to manage business development in the Clark County and Portland metropolitan area.

Johnson provides entrepreneurs with loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration to help them start or expand their small businesses. A vice president at Wells Fargo, Johnson also provides loans for working capital, equipment or inventory purchases and real estate transactions

Johnson was previously a Wells Fargo Business Banking relationship manager in Vancouver who served companies in Clark County with annual revenues of up to $20 million.

Johnson joined Wells Fargo in 2000 as a relationship manager for the Commercial Real Estate Group in Portland. He later worked in a similar position for the company’s Commercial Banking Group.

Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from Western Washington University and an MBA in finance from the University of Oregon.

Lacamas Community Credit Union hires two

Dan Leclerc has joined Lacamas Community Credit Union as chief financial officer. Prior to joining, LCCU, Leclerc was the executive vice president of finance at Park Side Credit Union in Whitefish, Mont. He holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from New Hampshire College in Manchester, NH. Leclerc assumes the CFO position held since 2004 by Bill Miner. Miner will work on special projects for LCCU, namely assisting with oversight of the construction of the new Sifton branch and will retire in 2007.

Ed Taylor has joined Lacamas Community Credit Union as director of marketing. Previously, Taylor worked as director of business services and deposit product management at First Tech Credit Union in Beaverton, Ore. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in speech communication from the University of Washington.

State Legislative Housing Committee appoints ranking republican

State Rep. Jim Dunn (R-17th) has been appointed top ranking republican on the House Housing Committee. Dunn was the successful prime sponsor of House Bill 2060, which provided maintenance and operating funds to housing trust fund projects. He was first elected to the House in 1996 and served until 2002. He was then elected again in 2004 and re-elected last November.

State Legislative Local Government Committee names ranking republican

State Rep. Richard Curtis (R-18th) has been appointed ranking republican on the Local Government Committee in the House of Representatives. Curtis, elected to his second term in the House in November, is a former La Center City Councilman. A fire captain-paramedic for the Vancouver Fire Department, Curtis is also the owner of a business which teaches advanced cardiac life support at Southwest Washington Medical Center. In June, Curtis received an award from the Gus Forbes VFW Post 1927, Woodland, for his continued support of veterans and veteran issues in Southwest Washington.

Keith Upkes consulting hires one

Shawn Weimerskirch has joined Keith Upkes Consulting as an accountant. Most recently, Weimerskirch was accounts payable manager for Nautilus. She has 16 years of accounting experience including time as accounts payable and payroll manager for Labtec/Logitech and general accounting analyst for the Tidland Corp.

Affordable Community Environments names executive director

Pam Brokaw, a former district director for US Rep. Brian Baird (D-3rd), has been appointed executive director of Affordable Community Environments. Brokaw is a former newspaper reporter, has managed the Water Resources Education Center for the city of Vancouver, and also served as communications specialist for Clark County.

West Coast Bank promotes one

Rhonda Wehler has been promoted to vice president of corporate communications at West Coast Bank. She has been with the company for eight years. Wehler has published more than 30 articles and stories in national magazines and books. She is a motivational speaker and is a member of the Candlestick Players drama team.

Leadership Clark County elects one to board

Alicia "Lisa" Lowe, a shareholder in the Vancouver office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, has been elected to the Leadership Clark County board of directors. Lowe is a 2003 graduate of the program. She was also recently elected to the Columbia River Economic Development Council board of directors and is serving as past-president to the Camas/Washougal Chamber of Commerce. In her legal practice, Lowe provides representation in business and estate planning as well as administration and commercial and real estate transactions.

City of Ridgefield names community development director

Kent Anderson has been appointed community development director for the city of Ridgefield. Anderson has 18 years of planning experience and has been community director for the city of Kelso for the past seven years. Anderson holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Eastern Washington University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
