Linda Beck New Edge Networks names president
Linda Beck has been named president of New Edge Networks. Beck, an executive vice president of EarthLink and general manager of EarthLink Business Solutions, had been interim president of New Edge Networks since last August. She was previously executive vice president of operations, managing EarthLink’s network operations, software development, system administration, quality engineering and information technology teams, as well as CTO and CIO functions. Prior to joining EarthLink, Beck was vice president of engineering of Internet service providers Netcom and MindSpring. EarthLink merged with MindSpring in 2000. She has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Iowa State University and an MBA from St. Mary’s College.
Columbia Ultimate promotes to CFO
Michael England has been promoted to chief financial officer of Columbia Ultimate. Previously, England worked as a vice president of finance. He has more than 20 years of industry experience in finance and operational management. Prior to joining Columbia Ultimate in 2000, he worked in the aviation and ship repair industry in the areas of finance, accounting and marketing. He also worked as director of administration and finance for a land use and environmental planning consulting organization. England holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology and an MBA from Willamette University.
Columbia Credit Union hires mortgage loan officer
Sandy Borchers has joined Columbia Credit Union as a mortgage loan officer in the home loan department. Borchers has more than 10 years of lending experience and numerous continuing education courses. She started at Columbia Credit Union three years ago and after a year became a financial services representative.
Waddell and Reed promotes one, hires one
Steve Thomas has been promoted to district manager at Waddell and Reed. Thomas has been with the firm for two years. Rachel Nordahl has joined Waddell and Reed as a financial advisor. Prior to joining the company, Nordahl was a senior teller with Bank of America where she had worked for more than two years.

Craig Robbins, D.M.D., has joined Kaiser Permanente’s Salmon Creek Dental Office. Dr. Robbins graduated from the Oregon Health Science University and previously practiced in Portland.

Dale Lamberton, Bonnie Trotter, Cathleen Miller, David Cortese and Tom Yan have joined Kaiser Permanente.
Dr. Lamberton is a cardiologist at the Vancouver Medical Office. He comes from a practice in Roseburg, Ore. Dr. Trotter is a family practice physician at the Cascade Park Medical Office. Dr. Miller is a neurologist. She previously worked in Santa Cruz and Soquel, Calif., and is now at the Vancouver Medical Office. Nygard and Schenck accept limited partnership offerings
Andy Nygard, Edward Jones investment representative, and Kim Schenck, senior branch office administrator, have accepted limited partnership offerings in The Jones Financial Cos., the holding company for the St. Louis-based financial services firm.
Nygard joined Edward Jones in 1992 and has served investors in Vancouver for the past 15 years. Schenck joined Edward Jones in 1998.
Bay Mortgage hires division manager
Steve Dick has joined Bay Mortgage, a division of Bay Bank, as vice president of the mortgage division. Dick previously worked with Riverview Mortgage as a loan originator and has 25 years of sales management experience.
BUILDERnews magazine appoints senior editor
Misty Haley Bouse has been appointed senior editor of BUILDERnews magazine. Bouse brings more than 15 years of experience from public relations, business-to-business technology and television media sales arenas. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. Bouse joined BUILDERnews magazine in 2006 as an associate editor.
Columbia members elect volunteers
Seven directors and five supervisory committee members were elected at Columbia Credit Union’s annual meeting. The members of the board of directors are: Wayne Bigelow, Judith Chipman, John Cheek, Brianna Johnston, Michael England, Dexter Garey and Charles McDonald. The supervisory committee will consist of: John Bucholtz, Angie Rawson, Donald Harris, Bill Hughes and Lowell McDougal.
