David Bristol Miller Nash Attorney joins First Independent 
David Bristol, former partner with Miller Nash LLP, has joined First Independent as executive vice president and chief legal officer.
In his 15-year career at Miller Nash, Bristol’s practice focused on banking, mergers and acquisitions, finance and real estate law.
Bristol, 46, earned a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from the University of Oregon. He graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1992 and began working at Miller Nash shortly thereafter. He has been a partner of the firm since 2000.
Bristol’s community involvement and volunteer activities include past board memberships with Comprehensive Options for Drug Abusers, Coleman Youth Education Fund and Cascade College. He also has coached various youth sports.
Todd Zalk, Joan Cooper and Samuel Johnson BOCC adds three VPs
Todd Zalk, Joan Cooper and Samuel Johnson recently joined the Bank of Clark County in newly created vice president and business relationship officer positions with its Business Banking Team.
Zalk most recently was a business development manager for Performance Contracting Inc. He is a graduate of George Fox University in Portland, Ore., with a bachelor’s degree in business management and organizational leadership and a master’s degree in business administration. Zalk is a member of the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce and a coach for Clark County Youth Football.
Cooper was formerly an assistant vice president and branch manager at a large local bank. She is a coach for the La Center High School Equestrian Team, a member of the La Center and Woodland Chambers of Commerce and fundraises for the Humane Society of Southwest Washington.
Johnson brings 21 years of banking experience to Bank of Clark County, most recently serving as a branch manager with Pathfinders Mortgage. Past experiences include business development and small business banking. Johnson is a member of the Downtown Camas Vision Committee and is a past ambassador to the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.
Nancy Hales Estate Planning Council elects new leadership
Nancy Hales, of The Hales Group Inc., was recently elected to take the helm of the Estate Planning Council of Southwest Washington. Her term is for one year from July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2008. Her efforts will be directed toward increasing membership services and addressing the need for community education on estate planning.
New officers include Dean Patterson of Cascade Consulting, vice president; Mike Day of Caton, Day and Co. CPAs PC, secretary; and Marc Grignon of First Independent Private Banking, treasurer. Todd Burchett, Michael Cochran, Constance Kratovil Skills Center Foundation appoints members
The Clark County Skills Center Foundation has appointed Todd Burchett, Constance Kratovil and Michael Cochran to its membership board.
Todd Burchett is a vice president and commercial banking officer for Pacific Continental Bank. A graduate of Clark College, Washington State University and the University of Washington’s Pacific Coast Banking School, he is also vice president of the Clark College Penguin Athletic Club and serves on the Washougal High School Business Advisory Committee and the City of Camas Design Review Committee.
Constance Kratovil, a licensed professional engineer, is the engineering manager and a senior project manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade and Douglas Inc. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.
Mike Cochran is a senior vice president at the Bank of Clark County. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in business administration and has been in the banking industry for 34 years. He serves on the board for the Club at the Historic Reserve.
Karen Nelson BOCC adds SVP
Bank of Clark County has added Karen Nelson as its newest senior vice president in Real Estate and Construction Lending. Formerly a senior vice president with a local community bank, Nelson’s extensive experience in banking and lending spans more than 27 years.
Nelson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University and is a graduate of the National School of Banking in Fairfield, Conn.
Nelson is a board member with the Home Ownership Center and the Building Industry Association, is active with the BIA Parade of Homes, and is the current chairman for the Clark Review Board. Nelson is also a Charter Member of the Camas/Washougal Rotary Club.
Kim Bennett Governor appoints Vancouver CEO to tourism commission
Kim Bennett has been appointed to a term with the Washington Tourism Commission, effective July 27, 2007, ending June 30, 2009. Bennett is the president and chief executive officer of the Southwest Washington Convention and Visitors Bureau. She has 11 years experience in developing, managing and directing economic development agencies, including the establishment of the Vancouver-based visitors bureau. Bennett serves on the executive board of the Southwest Washington Tourism Coalition and is a member of the Washington Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus and the Western Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus.
Hepieric hires three in Vancouver
Russ Kuhn joined Hepieric Inc. as its first sales manager. Sandra Anderson and Tonya Paulson have also joined ProDX, a division of Hepieric Inc., as sales executives.
