Port swears in new board member
Bill Ward was sworn in to the board of commissioners for the Port of Camas-Washougal Jan. 2, and will serve as its secretary. Ward fills the position previously held by Rich Gunderson.
For 28 years, Ward has run an engineering management consulting firm in Camas. He has worked with several jurisdictions, including the ports of Portland and Ridgefield, to improve operations, plan future facilities and increase employment. Ward is a national director of the American Society for Engineering Management, and has been president of the Camas-Washougal Rotary Club. He has a degree in engineering from Oregon State University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Portland. He and his family have lived in Camas for more than 30 years.
Janice Williams
The Holland promotes talent officer
Janice Williams was recently appointed as chief talent officer for The Holland Inc., owner of the Vancouver-based Burgerville chain. Williams joins a new chief operating team and will handle recruitment, retention and workforce productivity. She came to The Holland in 1984, and served most recently as its director of professional development. She also led the creation of The Holland’s Center for Responsible Community Leadership and redesigned its management curriculum and training programs.

Port of Ridgefield hires manager
Michael Williams is the new marketing and communications manager for the Port of Ridgefield. Williams’ work has been recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators and the American Public Transportation Association.

BIA hires PR director
Jordan Meade has been hired as public relations director for the Building Industry Association of Clark County. Prior to joining the BIA, she was the public relations and communications manager for the Port of Ridgefield. Meade has a degree in communications from the University of Washington.

Nutter manager elected to regional board
Ann Parry, project manager at Vancouver-based Nutter Corp., was elected to the board of directors for the Southwest Washington Contractors Association. She will serve on the nonprofit’s committees for education and new projects.

Olds wins Lions fellowship award
Diana Olds recently received the Fort Vancouver Lions Club’s Melvin Jones Fellowship award for community service. She is club secretary has been a program chair, council member, board director and a scholarship committee member. She is manager of Columbia Credit Union’s Salmon Creek branch.

Engineers earn LEED certification
Two engineers from PBS Engineering and Environmental in Vancouver have earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation. The designation will allow Cecelia McClure, senior civil engineer, and Kendra Laminack, project civil engineer, to facilitate sustainable design processes and LEED building certification.

Amaya Urzaa has been promoted to vice president and commercial lending officer at Bank of Clark County in Vancouver. Urzaa has worked there since 2006 and has 11 years of banking experience. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies from Portland State University.
