Rotary club presents service award
Tom Mears, chairman of Vancouver-based The Holland Inc., received the Rotary Club of Vancouver’s annual Vocational Service Award, which recognizes a lasting positive influence on his vocation and the community. Mears joined The Holland’s management program in 1966, then took over as chairman in 2008.
Mears serves on a number of community boards, including Community Choices and Identity Clark County. In 2002, he was
inducted into the Oregon Restaurant Association Hall of Fame and in 2007, earned the
Foodservice Consultants Society International’s Trendsetter Award.

Marilyn Darr is Southwest Washington Medical Center’s first Extraordinary Doctor of the Year, lauded for her compassion and competence. More than 200 physicians were nominated for the award, given to individuals who patients feel go above and beyond the call of duty.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage promoted Brian Sun EagleHeart to manager of its private mortgage banking team for the Vancouver-Portland metro area. He was previously a private banker at Portland’s Wells Fargo Wealth Management Group.
Kristin Haagen Muller Design Studio adds team member
Kristin Haagen has joined the staff of Vancouver-based Muller Design Studio. She handles design, development and administration of clients’ websites in addition to e-marketing solutions. Haagen previously designed websites for nonprofits. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University and a Web and Multimedia Certificate from Clark College.
