Vancouver financial advisor joins EWU Foundation board

Otto Guardado, a financial planner with Ameriprise Financial in Vancouver, was recently approved to sit on the Eastern Washington University Foundation Board for a three-year term.

Guardado specializes in retirement and investment planning at Guardado and Lander, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial, and will lend his investment and finance experience to assist the Foundation on its investment committee in what has been a volatile and challenging period for financial markets.

A 1995 graduate of EWU, he is the founder of the Otto Guardado Scholarship, which grants awards to three undergraduate business students. Guardado is also a recipient of the Vancouver Business Journal's Accomplished and Under 40 award.

EWU is a public university located in Cheney, Wash. with an enrollment of over 10,000 students, who also attend classes in Spokane, Seattle and Vancouver through Clark College.

LOU SOLLY

Lou Solly has joined Martel Wealth Advisors, Inc. in Vancouver as director of financial planning. 

Solly is a licensed Certified Financial Planner and Certified Wealth Strategist with over 20 years of experience providing personalized financial planning. He has a bachelor's degree in Education from Lewis & Clark College in Portland.  

Martel Wealth Advisors, Inc. is a locally owned firm working with clients since 1982. Securities are offered by company founder Mark Martel through KMS Financial Services, Inc.

ROBIN ANDERSON

Distinctively Home recently announced that Robin Anderson has joined the company as store manager.

Anderson is an interior designer who brings almost 20 years of experience with residential and commercial projects in the greater Vancouver-Portland metro area. She also serves as the events designer for the Vancouver Rotary Foundation's annual Festival of Trees.

Open since 2006, Distinctively Home features home accessories, furniture and décor, as well as providing in-home design services. The business is located in Battle Ground Village, adjacent to the new Battle Ground Community Library.

JEFFREY GRUBB

Vancouver-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust announced the appointment of Jeffrey Grubb as a trustee, effective July 1.

Grubb currently serves as executive vice president and senior managing director, Mountain Northwest Region, for Wells Fargo Bank.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo in November 2005, Mr. Grubb was CEO, Pacific Northwest Region, at U.S. Trust. 

A Vancouver resident, Grubb has been an active leader at Columbia Willamette Goodwill, Social Venture Partners Portland, the Portland Art Museum and the World Affairs Council of Oregon.

TRACY PETERKIN

Effective July 1, Tracy Peterkin is the new President and Owner of TJ & Associates, Inc., a human relations firm based in Southwest Washington.

Tracy joined TJ & Associates in 2003 and has most recently fulfilled the role of operations and human resources manager. She brings over 20 years of human resource management experience in manufacturing and consulting organizations, including HR positions with The Quaker Oats Company and Solvay Chemicals.
