S1 IT Solutions sees award, new services

Avaya Inc. recently awarded Boise- based S1 IT Solutions with its highest award of platinum certification. Avaya is a global provider of business communications applications, software and services, and S1 sells its systems and services. The award went to S1 for its efforts in assisting businesses with communications applications.

S1 also became a member of the EMC Velocity Authorized Services Network, and is now trained and certified to service EMC and Celerra storage systems and software.

S1 IT Solutions has regional offices in Vancouver, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Sacramento.

FlashNews expands territory

FlashNews, a Vancouver-based Internet news wire, is expanding into Texas and the Alaskan panhandle.

Starting this week, the company will provide its full range of news distribution services to Alaskan organizations as well as schools in Dallas, Waco and Austin, and a police department in Houston.

The company currently serves 800 organizations in the Northwest and Colorado, distributing notices of snow closures, news releases and other announcements. This service has nearly 30,000 subscribers in five states.
