Pacific Crest Custom Cabinetry, a custom cabinet manufacturer, will expand its operations to the city of Ridgefield. Pacific Crest Custom Cabinetry has been in business since 1972 and currently operates out of a 45,000-square-foot building in Sherwood, Ore., that employs 61 people. The company’s new facility will employ approximately 50 production and office employees. Eventual employment is estimated at 100 employees.
The company has purchased 15 acres in the Ridgefield Commerce Center, an 11-lot industrial subdivision developed by Specht Properties. Pacific Crest Custom Cabinetry will initially build an 180,000-square-foot building with space for manufacturing and office functions. The company plans to break ground on the new building this summer and has plans to move in next spring. The company may construct additional buildings in the future in response to growth.
According to the city of Ridgefield, there is approximately 350,000 square feet of new commercial and industrial development under review or construction in the city limits. In addition to such mega-projects as Union Ridge, there is a 100,000-square-foot building under construction by Pacific Power Products as well as the 19,000-square-foot office complex, Heron Gate. Parr Lumber is also building a 30,000-square-foot facility.
Ridgefield Community Development Director Kevin Snyder said more commercial projects appear to be coming online due, among other things, to the more than 2,000 recently approved residential lots, which will nearly triple the city’s population by 2010.
