Cleveland-based Wastequip Inc. has purchased specific assets and specific liabilities of McLeskey Enterprises Inc., also known as Cascade Container. Cascade, based in Ridgefield, manufactures roll-off, front load, rear load containers and roll-off hoists for garbage and recycling providers in Oregon, Washington, California, Alaska, Hawaii and British Columbia.
The acquisition will increase Wastequip’s manufacturing capabilities on the West Coast and will allow the company to manufacture a full line of containers and start to manufacture the full line of Wastequip compactors, roll–off hoists and hook hoists in the Pacific Northwest.
Wastequip will retain Cascade’s management team and employees, and continue to manufacture waste-handling equipment at the Cascade facility under the name Wastequip Washington.
“We found Wastequip to be the perfect partner to carry on the tradition of Cascade,” said Gary McLeskey, president of Cascade Container, in a statement. He will also become the general manager of the Wastequip Northwest Division. “Being able to provide the full line of Wastequip products to our customers and all of the West Coast will be a great service to the waste industry.”
Since its founding in 1989, Wastequip has become one of the largest manufacturers, designers and marketers of equipment used to collect, process and transport solid and liquid waste. The company’s products include a variety of metal containers used for the collection of waste materials, balers and compactors, intermodals and roll-off containers, transfer trailers, roll-off hoists, tarpers and vehicle mounted vacuum units.
