Princeton Athletic Club sells

Russ and Michele Dyer have sold Princeton Athletic Club to David Lawson of Vancouver, who has 10 years of experience with management and operations in the fitness industry.

The deal was effective Oct. 1. They declined to disclose the sale price.

Russ Dyer has taken a job as a relationship manager at global investment institution UBS in Portland, and Michele Dyer is working as a contractor for Nike doing event planning.

When Lawson approached the Dyers, who live in Portland, more than six months ago, the timing seemed right, said Russ Dyer.

“I live here in downtown, and I identified the club several years ago because it’s in the center of a growing and thriving community,” Lawson said. “I like the area, and it has obvious advantages with the new construction coming in and the growth. I love being downtown, and this club has a great clientele.”

For the last two-and-a-half years, Lawson worked as a sales manager at the Hilton Vancouver and the Benson Hotel in Portland, and he plans to use his experience to draw new members into the club.

He has started to add new equipment, and has further plans to spruce up the club and interact with the membership more closely.
