Jordan Ramis PC has announced that shareholder John R. Bachofner has been appointed to the Camas Washougal Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 2012-2014.

Bachofner earned his bachelor of arts from Pacific Lutheran University. He earned his J.D. at the University of Puget Sound, School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. He is a member of the Oregon Council on Court Procedures, a delegate with the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates, a member of the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association, the Oregon and Washington State Bar Associations, the Multnomah County Bar Association and the Clark County Bar Association.

Life Care Centers of America has honored Matt Preston, executive director of Cascade Park Care Center in Vancouver, with its Northwest Division President’s Award.

Preston received one of two President’s Awards for the Northwest Division, presented for distinguished service in the long-term health care management role. The Northwest Division includes 30 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Fourteen President’s Awards are presented annually to leaders of overall successful facilities or organizations within Life Care, such as Cascade Park Care Center. Criteria for winners include at least two years of service with the company, adherence to its mission and values statement and successful financial performance.

Miller Nash LLP partner Ryan Nisle has been named for the first time to The Best Lawyers in America list. The list, published by Woodward/White Inc., recognizes outstanding attorneys based on a peer-review system in which leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers.

Nisle focuses his practice on tax and business law, splitting his time between Miller Nash’s Vancouver and Portland offices.

“Ryan brings a tremendous knowledge of taxation and its impact on businesses to our clients in Washington and Oregon,” said LeAnne Bremer, partner-in-charge of Miller Nash’s Vancouver office. “This recognition is well-deserved and speaks to the quality of Ryan’s counsel.”

In addition to maintaining an active law practice, Nisle also serves on the board for the American Red Cross of
Southwest Washington. He received his law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law and a bachelor of arts in history from Iowa State University.
