Regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt has named Denise Gaskin as its new chief operating officer.

As COO, Gaskin will be responsible for managing the overall business and operational functions of the firm. She will work to develop and advance the strategic, financial and practice-management objectives of the firm and to ensure all departments function in a highly efficient, client-service-focused manner.

“I am very excited to have Denise join us at Schwabe,” said Mark Long, managing partner at the firm. “In all the markets where we do business, we have been able to build a strong reputation based on the legal counsel we provide to the region’s top companies. Gaskin comes to Schwabe from the Asheville, N.C. offices of The Van Winkle Law Firm, where she also served as chief operating officer.

The Hasson Company recently welcomed Laurie Lohoefner to its Southwest Washington branch.

Lohoefner has been a licensed real estate agent for nearly seven years. Prior to getting into real estate, she worked in human resources for ten years.

Lohoefner said she especially enjoys working with seniors and their families, and is in the process of starting a co-op specializing in working with seniors.

Vancouver-based At Your Place Senior Care has hired Kate Tijerina as its new home care liaison.

Tijerina, a Leadership Clark County Class of 2011 graduate, has a bachelor’s of arts degree in public affairs and minors in sociology and Spanish. She is currently continuing her education by pursuing a second major in business.
