David Bristol

Bristol brings more than 20 years of experience providing legal advice in business and corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, financial institution regulation, real estate leasing and development transactions, alcoholic beverage regulation, intellectual property and international distribution.

He most recently served as chief legal officer and executive vice president at First Independent Bank. Prior to that, Bristol served as a partner at Miller Nash in its business department specializing in business and real estate transactions and financial institution regulation.

“David’s extensive experience in sophisticated business and corporate transactions meets an important need for Clark County businesses as they grow in size and complexity,” said Lisa Lowe, managing shareholder in Schwabe’s Vancouver office. “He adds to the local strength of Schwabe’s legal team and allows us to offer expanded services to the firm’s clients in Southwest Washington and around the region.”

Bristol is licensed to practice law in both Washington and Oregon. He earned his juris doctor degree from Vanderbilt School of Law and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Oregon.

Nancy Olmsted, Columbia Credit Union (CCU) vice president of marketing, has been appointed to the newly-created position of vice president of card services.

In her new role, Olmsted will lead the credit union’s credit card, debit card and ATM products and services to achieve growth, sales, service and operational goals. The credit union said she will also direct the department’s strategic planning, project management and staff training and development.

“Our card services portfolio has grown in complexity along with member demand,” said Lindsey Salvestrin, Columbia Credit Union senior VP of service delivery‐project management. “Our need for dedicated product management dovetails with Nancy’s leadership, project management skills and extensive marketing experience.”

CCU also announced that Brad Hunter has joined the company as vice president of marketing, where he will lead promotions supporting member needs for education, loans, deposits, wealth management and e‐commerce. He will also execute marketing plans while overseeing all print and electronic communications, sales support, public relations and more.

“We’re thrilled to have Brad join our team,” said CCU Senior Vice President Marketing and ChiefDeposit Officer, Colleen Boccia. “He brings a wealth of industry experience and branding expertise. His insights will help Columbia Credit Union reach new levels of success.”

HDJ Design Group, a Vancouver-based engineering, planning, land survey and landscape architecture firm, has re-hired engineer-in-training Nicollette R. Roth.

In her new role, the firm said Roth will support the transportation engineers at HDJ, and as needed, the site development group.

According to HDJ, increasing project “wins” and the expansion of projects in the Tri-Cities have led to a re-hiring of staff when possible, in order to keep pace with project deadlines.

Riverview Community Bank has hired Robert Johnson to serve as a commercial loan officer.

In his new capacity, Johnson will help local businesses with their banking needs at Riverview’s Gateway branch in Portland.

Johnson joins Riverview with more than 25 years of experience in commercial lending and banking services, including several managerial roles.

The Vancouver-based bank also announced the hiring of Larry Schwartz as a business development officer for Riverview’s Gresham branch.

“Larry is a savvy and energetic addition to our team,” said Jim Baldovin, Riverview executive VP of retail banking. “I’m confident he will add even more expertise and commitment to community banking and community involvement to our already strong team in Gresham and East County.”

LCC BOARD MEMBERS

Leadership Clark County (LCC) recently announced the appointment of the following three new members to its volunteer Board of Directors: Carol Davis, Dee Memering and Linda Reid.

Davis, a LCC class of 1998 grad, is practice administrator for Creekside Medical. Memering (class of 2011) is the marketing director for Glenwood Senior Living; and Reid (class of 2009) is a vice president at West Coast Bank.

VIRGINIA VAN BREEMEN, JIM CARLSON & SUSAN RASMUSSEN

The Board of Clark County Commissioners has reappointed the following three members of the volunteer Clean Water Commission to serve additional three-year terms: Virginia Van Breemen of La Center, Jim Carlson of Ridgefield and Susan Rasmussen of La Center.

Carlson has served on commission since 2010 and currently is vice chair. He represents a small developer and neighborhood association perspectives. Carlson co-founded Vecos Development Corp. and The Village Ecosystem, a nonprofit.

Rasmussen has served on the commission since its inception in 2000 and represents an agricultural perspective.

Breemen has served as a commission member since 2002 and represents a rural perspective.

The nine-member commission makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the county’s Stormwater Management Plan, program service levels, financing and policies on surface and stormwater issues.
