In a press release, Fuerstenberg said he’s excited about his two-year term as president. His goals include providing continuing education for the association’s members, increasing membership and broadening the public’s knowledge of memorialization services.

“I’m looking forward to building a stronger organization and expanding the range of expertise that’s available within the memorialization community,” he said.

Fuerstenberg has worked in the monument industry for 18 years. He gained his Certified Memorialist designation in 1997.

OnPoint Community Credit Union has hired Jeff Goodman to manage its new Vancouver branch at 160th & Mill Plain Blvd.

In his new role, Goodman will be responsible for managing branch staff, coordinating day-to-day operations, attending community events, increasing loan activity and developing new business relationships.

Goodman comes to OnPoint with branch management and business development experience. He holds a bachelor of science in business management and an MBA from Marylhurst University.

“Jeff has a wealth of experience in financial services and strong ties to the community,” said OnPoint President and CEO Rob Stuart. “With his extensive experience and proven leadership skills, Jeff will be an outstanding asset to our members and the Mill Plain branch.”

SCOTT ALEXANDER

Residential/commercial restoration and cleaning services firm Rainbow International of Vancouver has hired Scott Alexander to serve as its lead project manager.

In his new role, Alexander will oversee all residential and commercial mitigation and restoration projects at the firm. His responsibilities will also including implementation and oversight of employee performance standards, training and safety programs.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Rainbow International team,” Alexander said. “It’s very satisfying to be part of a growing company that offers a wide variety of services, and places such emphasis on state-of-the-art processes and customer service.”

Alexander has more than 25 years in residential and commercial construction including three years in the restoration industry. His accreditations include IICRC WTR, FSRT and AHERA Accredited Asbestos Inspector.

HDJ Design Group PLLC, a Vancouver-based engineering, planning, land surveying and landscape architecture firm has welcomed Katie Daniel to their team.

Daniel is a construction inspector III, construction manager and DOT erosion control inspector in the states of Oregon and Washington. She brings 19 years of experience with project management, cost estimating, construction inspection and field supervision.

HDJ said Daniel is a diligent construction manager who consistently monitors sites to ensure proper compliance with building and safety codes. 


Phillip HaberthurPHILLIP HABERTHUR

Pacific Northwest regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt recently announced that Phillip Haberthur has been named a shareholder of the firm. Haberthur is an attorney in the firm’s Vancouver office.

Haberthur focuses his practice in the areas of creditor’s rights, including foreclosures, loan workouts and modifications, consumer protection actions, bankruptcy, real estate and title litigation, and general commercial litigation. His practice also includes appellate law, representing clients before Washington’s appellate courts.

He received his juris doctor degree from Lewis & Clark Law School.

PARTNERS IN CAREERS

Partners in Careers (PIC), a Vancouver-based nonprofit serving veterans, youth, refugees and others in need, recently elected the following business leaders to its Board of Directors: John Deeder, superintendent of the Evergreen School District; Nancy Baker, Port of Vancouver USA commissioner; and Larry Smith, retired Army veteran and Vancouver City Council member.

The trio was elected during a PIC board retreat on March 29.
