Chato Hazelbaker

Hazelbaker has more than 15 years of communications experience, mostly in higher education institutions. He has worked as the marketing and media relations director at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota, and as director of marketing at Montana State University-Billings.

“Clark College is very fortunate to hire a person of such character and caliber as Chato Hazelbaker as our new chief communications officer,” said Clark College President Robert K. Knight. “He will be a great addition to the college and the executive leadership team.”

In his new role, Hazelbaker will be responsible for providing strategic communications counsel to the college administration; promoting the college’s activities, programs, people and events in local, state and national media; serving as public information officer and legislative liaison for the college; developing and implementing a communications plan consistent with the college’s goals; and directing the communications and marketing department.

Clark College Foundation’s Ara Serjoie, senior vice president, has received the Thanks Badge from the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington for his service.

The badge honors individuals whose ongoing commitment, leadership and service have had an exceptional and measurable impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals and priorities of the entire Girl Scout council or the Girl Scout Movement.

“Ara Serjoie is a passionate supporter of Girl Scouts. As a board member, he has provided extraordinary leadership, particularly in recruiting new board members and focusing attention on the development of alumnae programs. We thank Ara for his service and are pleased to present him with Girl Scouting’s highest adult honor,” said Karen Hill, Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington CEO.

Serjoie joined Clark College Foundation in 2006. His connections to the Girl Scouts go back to his roots in Utah, where he served as the director of development and alumni relations for the Girl Scouts of Utah.
