E3 Washington is an initiative developed by the Environmental Education Association of Washington (EEAW). ‘E3’ stands for education, environment and economy.
In a press release, Rich McConaghy, environmental resources manager and director of the center, expressed his thanks for all whose efforts contributed to achieving this recognition.
“I am very proud of our staff and our partners whose hard work and dedication engages and inspires students of all ages to learn more about our natural resources,” he said.
The core mission of the Water Resources Education Center is to teach people of all ages to care for and make wise decisions about water. Since its opening in 1996, more than 3,000 students visit the center annually as they learn about water, sustainability and the environment.
