Earlier this week, the Jefferson Street at-grade rail crossing closed permanently and Grant Street opened to traffic from Eighth Street south, linking up to a new West Sixth/Seventh Street industrial connector from Grant to Jefferson.
In addition to the permanent closure of the rail crossing, Jefferson Street will close temporarily at West Evergreen Boulevard and West Eighth Street starting August 5, to allow construction to continue on the new Jefferson connector that will link up with Eighth Street.
The project remains on track for completion by the end of 2013.
