Michael is completing the OHSU/PSU joint Healthcare Management MBA program and is a member of the local Healthcare Financial Manager’s Association and Medical Group Managers Association.
LYNN MILLER & KRISTY WEAVER
The Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation recently elected Lynn Miller and Kristy Weaver to its board of trustees.
Miller is co-owner of Vancouver Sign Group (VSG), a family owned and operated sign manufacturing company. She attended Washington State University and is active with the Rotary of Greater Clark County, the Jewish Business Network, Bridge the Gap and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington.
Weaver is the senior vice president and team leader for Southwest Washington at Pacific Continental Bank. She attended the University of Washington and Clark College, and is the chair of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the boards of the Vancouver Downtown Association and the American Red Cross of SW Washington. Additionally, she serves on the Professional Advisory Council of The Community Foundation of SW Washington.
The Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation advocates and raises funds for Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center and is currently engaged in a $1.2 million campaign in support of the Salmon Creek Medical Center Child Abuse Assessment Team project.
HDJ EXPANSION
HDJ Design Group PLLC, an engineering, planning, land survey and landscape architecture firm headquartered in Vancouver, has hired a branch manager and survey manager to oversee the company’s new office in Walla Walla.
Paul Tomkins (pictured left) will act as the Walla Walla branch manager and principal surveyor in Eastern Washington. He has more than 32 years of land survey experience in that region.
Greg Flowers (pictured left center) brings more than three decades of land survey experience to HDJ. He is a Certified Federal Land Surveyor and will be handling oversight of the survey crews.
HDJ said the opening of a Walla Walla office will help to strengthen the firm’s expanding Tri-Cities operation and to serve its growing Eastern Washington clientele.
To assist the company in a pair of city of Walla Walla projects, HDJ has also hired inspectors John Porchowsky (pictured right center) and Andrew Martonick (pictured right).
Porchowsky has more than 15 years experience in construction and engineering project management, while Martonick brings more than six years of construction experience.

Shane Weisman has been selected to be one of the ten-member 401(k) Advisory Council with Ameriprise Financial, from 10,000 financial advisors nationwide. Shane is the only council member from the Pacific Northwest. Ameriprise Financial is a Fortune 250 company with $655 billion under management.

DREW DAMM, TOM KUFFNER & JUSTEN MERRITT
Vancouver-based Sigma Design continued its expansion this month with the hiring of Drew Damm, Tom Kuffner and Justen Merritt as mechanical engineers.
Damm brings nearly 20 years of mechanical engineering experience to the product design firm. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University. In his new role, he will be primarily responsible for the design and development of electronic products.
Kuffner has more than 25 years of experience in the mechanical engineering of electronic products. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University. He will be responsible for the design and development of various products for Sigma Design customers.
Merritt holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University. His past experience includes the design and development of products used in the medical and aerospace industries. In his new role, he will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering services for diverse products and systems.
