Ridgefield, Clark Regional Wastewater issue notice to development community

Treatment capacity – The Ridgefield wastewater treatment plant is running at approximately 60 percent of its maximum month flow capacity, and will need to be expanded in the coming years in order to serve the city’s long‐range development forecasts.

Discovery Corridor Wastewater Transmission System – The Ridgefield sewer system will be connected to the district system and Salmon Creek wastewater treatment plant via a new pressure pipeline known as the Discovery Corridor Wastewater Transmission System (DCWTS), ensuring long‐term capacity and certainty. Construction of the new pipeline is expected to begin in 2014, and will be operational by late 2016.

Collection system extension – The transfer agreement includes a commitment by the district to implement a six‐year capital program to provide sewer extensions serving the Ridgefield Junction area.

Land use and development – The district will honor existing Ridgefield land use and development agreements, as well as System Development Charge credit agreements. The district plans to involve property owners and developers in future planning to ensure capacity is in place to meet anticipated demand, and to minimize disruptions during future construction projects.
