The sale doesn’t mean that local Wendy’s locations will close. Rather, the restaurants involved in the transaction will go from company-owned to franchisee-owned.
Group W Partners LLC is led by veteran Wendy’s franchisees Dan O’Brien and Doug Rich.
“We’re honored that we have been selected to represent the Wendy’s brand in the greater Portland area and in Southwest Washington,” said O’Brien, a franchisee since 1990. “With the brand transformation that’s gaining momentum at Wendy’s, we’re excited about the future and the opportunities for growth.”
Included in the purchase agreement are specific plans to remodel certain Wendy’s locations using a contemporary design; the franchisee’s first remodeled restaurant is scheduled to open in mid-December in Vancouver.
