The program provides grants to eligible public bodies, private nonprofit corporations and federally recognized Indian Tribes to finance and facilitate development of small and emerging businesses in rural areas of the state. For-profit businesses are not eligible.
Eligible areas are unincorporated rural areas and incorporated communities of 50,000 or less, which are not becoming urbanized. To be considered for Fiscal Year 2014 funding, applications must be received by January 31, 2014.
