Tomorrow morning’s grand-opening celebration includes the presentation of grants from Walmart to local community groups including Share, who will be attending the event to accept a $25,000 check.

“We are extremely grateful to the Walmart Foundation for their recognition and support of Share’s vital services to our community,” said Diane McWithey, executive director of Share. “The $25,000 grant will be used to support our Backpack Program, which provides food on the weekends to children at risk of hunger – more than 68,400 bags each school year. It is through the tremendous support of businesses, like Walmart, that allows us to fulfill our mission each and every day.”

The new store employs approximately 80 full- and part-time associates, and will be open for business 24 hours a day. It will be managed by Jeremy Huckleberry, who began his career at Walmart in 2004 as a tire and lube express support manager in Vancouver.
