Derek Woodson

Woodson began his career in engineering at a local plastics manufacturer in Portland before moving to Hewlett-Packard in Vancouver where he worked on printing products. He then obtained a master of engineering management degree from Washington State University and was promoted into engineering management shortly thereafter.

Biggs Insurance Services of Vancouver recently announced a trio of new hires: Dan Bingham as a producer/account manager; Travis Anderson as a producer in the Cincinnati Insurance Company New Producer Program; and Delia Grenier as an account manager.

Bingham graduated from University of Montana with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology. He worked as a biologist for the US Forest Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service from 2011 to 2014.

Anderson has been with Biggs Insurance Services for a year. Enrolled in the company’s six-month new producer program, he will develop and expand his insurance knowledge while receiving individual coaching and training on how to deliver key sales as provided by Polestar Performance Programs.

Grenier joins Biggs Insurance Services as an account manager for its commercial lines department. She has been involved with insurance for 30 years and was previously with New York Life, Propel Insurance and Marsh.

The Southwest Washington Contractors Association (SWCA) has announced its 2014 Executive Board and has welcomed three new Board Members who will serve a two-year term.

The 2014 SWCA Executive Board includes:

Joe Currie of JWC Construction as president; Tracey Malone of Halbert Construction Services as vice president; Bryce Sinner of Stellar J. Corp as secretary and Michele Freeman of Columbia Bank as treasurer.

New board members are Mike Nieto, Catworks Construction; Jim West, Coldwell Banker Commercial; and Troy Van Dinter, Interior Technology Inc.

KAREN HOLTERHOFF

The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) recently appointed Karen Holterhoff to the organization’s Board of Directors. Holterhoff is a director of the KMR Group in Vancouver.

As a member of the NWABA board, Holterhoff will join other community leaders in helping the Vancouver-based nonprofit achieve its mission of providing life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired.

“I am so impressed with the mission and programs of the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes and I look forward to becoming a member of the board to help further their good work,” she said.
