Public hearing on county budget Dec. 1, 2

The Board of Clark County Commissioners will consider the 2015-16 budget recommendations of Clark County Administrator Mark McCauley during a public hearing beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 1.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to testify when the hearing continues at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Both sessions will take place in the Public Service Center, 6th floor hearing room, 1300 Franklin St.

“There are few enhancements,” McCauley said in a memo to the board. “Law enforcement and criminal justice are the exceptions targeted for strategic investment to promote public safety.”

Overall, the proposed budget continues current services and adds 10 custody deputies in the Sheriff’s Office and a legal assistant in the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The total projected budget is $896.2 million for all county services, including $295.7 million in general fund revenues and expenses.
