MacKay Sposito is attracting attention – locally and regionally – for its growth. According to CEO Tim Schauer, this is the third year in a row the company has been a Vancouver Business Journal BGA finalist (and was a winner in 2011). Also, they are on the list of 100 fastest growing businesses in Portland, and have been named to the 2012 ZweigWhite (an industry advisor firm) top 100 list at #57, based on three-year growth numbers.
“Our net revenue has continued to climb over the past five years, exceeding all expectations,” said Jessica Strom, communications coordinator. “We realized an increase of 17 percent over last year alone.”
Overall revenue, said Strom, increased 24 percent in 2012 compared to 2011. Also, the company added 20 employees in 2012.
The company has offices in Vancouver, Federal Way, Kennewick, Bend, Hillsboro and Idaho, as well as many field offices in northeastern WA and southern OR. Some projects are as far away as Hawaii and Alaska.
Schauer said that to achieve this success, the company had to “get off the roller coaster of boom and bust economies.” Therefore, they have diversified geographically, increased the number of clients, and expanded into new market sectors to stabilize growth. Schauer said they plan to grow about 10 percent per year going forward.
