Sonic Drive-In

Construction of Vancouver’s first Sonic Drive-In began March 11 at 850 N.E. 192nd Ave. in Vancouver. The 1,850-square-foot restaurant will include a 1950s-style drive-in, covered outdoor seating and a drive-through, but no indoor seating. The project is scheduled for completion in June. The contractor is Portland-based MCobean Construction. Area Sonic Drive-In franchises are owned by Hillsboro, Ore.-based The Wetsel Co.

Hazel Ridge Townhomes

Gresham, Ore.-based Persimmon Development Group began construction of Hazel Ridge Townhomes in Hazel Dell in February. Completion is scheduled for early July with a projected value of $21 million.

The 88-home community is located at 76th Street and Hazel Dell Avenue, near Hazel Dell Square. Each two-story home will include a two-car garage and private backyard with a patio. The homes will range from 1,390 square feet to 1,684 square feet, and will meet Energy Star standards for healthy indoor air and energy savings.

The developer is collaborating with Vancouver-based AKS Engineering and Portland-based Myhre Group Architects and Alpha Community Development. The project executive is Persimmon President Brian Lessler.
