County closes Battle Ground permit center
In response to the continuing downturn in construction, permit applications and fee revenue, Clark County has closed its permit center in Battle Ground.
There was no staff reduction associated with the closure, said Chief Building Official Jim Muir.
The remaining county permit center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays at 1300 Franklin St. in Vancouver.
RSV wins Kiewit expansion bid
Vancouver-based RSV Construction Services Inc. began work on the second phase of construction at Kiewit Pacific Co.'s Northwest District Office in Vancouver.
RSV completed the first phase of construction in April, with the addition of a new 25,261-square-foot building. The second phase includes remodeling the existing 20,000-square-foot building and re-skinning the existing 4,000-square-foot storage and maintenance facility with new roofing and siding.
Kiewit is doubling its Vancouver office space to accommodate more staff.
The project is set to be complete in September.
