SWMC names center, marks milestone
Vancouver-based Southwest Washington Medical Center’s new breast care center was named Oct. 7 in honor of local philanthropists Lee and Connie Kearney.
The couple were among the first to support the center’s construction, pledging $2.5 million.
Connie Kearney is a member of the Southwest Foundation Board of Directors and a 10-year breast cancer survivor. Lee Kearney is a member of the board of directors for Southwest Washington Health System, SWMC’s parent company.
The Kearney Breast Care Center is nearly twice the size of its predecessor, with space for new imaging technologies and services in a spa-like setting.
Also this month, SWMC’s acute rehabilitation unit marked its 15th anniversary. The 14-bed unit is Clark County’s only hospital-based program of its kind, which served 230 patients last year, according to SWMC.
