Agencies roll out new loan program

The Community Housing Resource Center, the city of Vancouver’s Community Development Department and Portland-based nonprofit Unlimited Choices are collaborating to roll out a new low-interest rehab loan program for low-income home owners.

Through the program, qualified home owners whose homes need major structural repairs will be able to borrow up to $25,000 at 3 percent interest, deferred until the home is sold or refinanced, said CHRC Executive Director Teri Duffy.

The city has chosen to allocate federal money to the program, which will be administered by the nonprofit organizations.

The program, which Duffy expects to be introduced this fall, will target six neighborhoods designated in the Fourth Plain Boulevard redevelopment sub-area plan.

Page One Northwest, which provides new car reviews to automotive publications, signed a three-year lease effective until Aug. 31, 2010. The space will be used for receipt, delivery, storage, washing and test drives of new vehicles to be reviewed.
