Wells Fargo cutting 68 positions at Vancouver call center
Wells Fargo has announced it will reduce the size of its Vancouver call center by 68 positions. The company informed the impacted collectors and supervisors yesterday.
“In addition to our customers paying down debt, the number of delinquent accounts is also decreasing. This means our workload and the number of collectors we need to handle those accounts are also going down,” explained Mike Hiber, Wells Fargo’s senior vice president. “Reducing our staff was a difficult but necessary decision, based on changing business needs.”
The company said it is working to find alternative positions in Vancouver and other cities for the impacted staff members.
The call center, located at 521 Southeast Chkalov Drive, currently employs about 400 people.
