Jordan Ramis hopes to shake up the local legal community with veteran hires

In an effort to expand its presence in Southwest Washington, Jordan Ramis PC has hired attorneys Russell Garrett, John Bachofner and Scott Anders to work out of the firm’s Vancouver office, effective this Tuesday.

With the new hires, Brad Eriksen, acting managing shareholder at Jordan Ramis, said he expects his firm to be much more visible in the Vancouver business community moving forward.

“This not only increases the number of attorneys [at Jordan Ramis], but the depth of experience as well,” said Eriksen. “The practice areas that Russ, John and Scott bring we have covered in the Portland office, but now we’ll have experienced attorneys on site in Vancouver that cover those practice areas as well.”

Garrett is a bankruptcy lawyer with experience handling bankruptcy and creditors' rights, commercial litigation, real estate and general business. Bachofner focuses on insurance coverage and litigation, products liability, business, creditor’s rights and bankruptcy. Anders is a civil prosecutor and a former District Court Judge in Clark County with practice areas including bankruptcy and creditors’ rights.

All three have been practicing for more than two decades, previously having worked out of Bullivant Houser Bailey’s Vancouver office.

“Since we opened our Vancouver office, this [expansion] has been our goal,” said Eriksen. “We’ve planned on growing this office since day one. The recession impeded our plans just a little bit, but now we’re back on track with fully staffing this office.”

Jordan Ramis opened its Vancouver office, located at 1498 Southeast Tech Center Place, Suite 380, in 2007.

“This represents our commitment to the Vancouver community and our investment in the future,” Eriksen added.

Looking ahead, Eriksen said Jordan Ramis will continue to look for more growth in Southwest Washington as the firm looks to add experience.

“We don’t have necessarily a plan on when or how we’re going to grow, but because we are a very entrepreneurial firm, when opportunities do present themselves we will take them,” he said.
