Steve C. Morasch of Schwabe, Williamson and Wyatt has been appointed to the Clark County Planning Commission. Morasch succeeds Lonnie Moss who recently resigned from the organization. Morasch is a member of the lands committee of the Columbia River Economic Development Council and is a member of the board of the Clark College Alumni Association. He is a graduate of Willamette University and the Lewis & Clark College law school.
Clark College Penguin Athletic Club appoints board member
Bob Gutridge has been appointed to the board of directors of the Clark College Penguin Athletic Club. Gutridge is the advertising operations manager at The Columbian, where he has worked for 23 years. He has worked closely with the PAC on its membership brochure, on certificates for its Student Athlete of the Month program and with the athletic department to produce quarterly media guides.
MacKay and Sposito promotes one
Lisa Hunter Schauer has been promoted to associate at MacKay and Sposito. Hunter Schauer manages the firm’s business development and marketing functions for the corporate and branch offices. She joined M&S in 2000. Hunter Schauer received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Gonzaga University and has worked in the Southwest Washington area for the past eight years. She previously worked for the Secretary of the Interior and as the governmental affairs director for Southwest Washington Building Industry Association.
First Independent promotes one, hires three
Laura Ploium has been promoted to assistant vice president for First Independent Consumer Loan Approval. She has been with First Independent since 1989 and has worked in the retail and credit administration departments.
Coletta Bruce was hired as assistant vice president/business banking relationship manager. She has 27 years of experience in business banking.
Michelle Howell was hired as vice president and senior financial analyst. Most recently a senior tax manager, Howell has a bachelor’s degree in math and science education from Washington State University Pullman.
Kristi Langdon was hired as vice president/manager of financial planning and analysis for First Independent. Most recently a manager of financial planning and analysis with Hollywood Entertainment, Langdon has a Master of Business Administration from University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and marketing from University of Montana.

CFO of Clark College Foundation receives CTFA designation
Barbara Chen, Chief Financial Officer of the Clark College Foundation, has received the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers. Chen has served the Foundation since 2000, starting out as accounting manager before assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2005. She received her bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Oregon in 1984.
Ray Korpi
Clark College names dean of Basic Education, English, Communications and Humanities
Ray Korpi has been named dean of Basic Education, English, Communications and Humanities at Clark College. Korpi has been a member of the English department at Clark College since 1993 and has served as interim dean since 2003. He holds a Ph.D. in American studies from Washington State University Pullman as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees in English from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. His experience includes time as a tenured faculty member at Clark College as well as an adjunct instructor and a credentials evaluator at the Art Institute of Portland.

Rocketshop hires four, promotes one
Jon Agee, Heather Linn, Josh Owens and Melissa Grow-Cusumano have joined Rocketshop’s Account Services team.
Agee and Linn have been appointed account directors. Previously, Agee worked at Creative Media Development in Portland where he was a production manager. Linn’s experience includes developing integrated marketing campaigns.
Owens has been named account coordinator. He is a recent graduate of Pacific Lutheran University.
Melissa Grow-Cusumano has joined Rocketshop as art director. Previously senior graphic designer at Creative Media Development, Grow-Cusumano brings more than 10 years of experience in advertising and graphic design. She received a bachelor’s degree from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mich.
Justin Couch has been promoted to senior art director. Couch has been with Rocketshop since 2005.
