SWMC appoints new senior chief financial officer
David G. Willie, CPA, has joined the staff of Southwest Washington Medical Center as senior chief financial officer. Previously, Willie had been vice president of finance at CaroMont Health in Gastonia, N.C. for 13 years. Willie will replace Eugene Johnson who has been CFO for 18 years. Johnson also served as interim co-CEO of SWMC before the current Joseph M. Kortum took over in 2003. In addition to his tenure at CaroMont, Willie served in hospital finance functions in Florida, Utah and Wyoming.
A certified public accountant, he has an MBA from Utah State University and completed his undergraduate degree at Weber State College in Ogden, Utah. Willie is active with the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
