The Community Foundation announces VP of development
Sarah Nevue has been appointed vice president of development for the Community Foundation. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art and Christie’s Auction House. Later she served in leadership positions for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Oregon Symphony and Lewis & Clark Law School. Most recently, Nevue worked for Jordan Schnitzer, supporting his philanthropy and board work in the community.
"Working with the Community Foundation provides a wonderful opportunity to help individuals make a difference and guarantee the continuation of the ideas and institutions they value," Nevue said in a statement.
The Community Foundation of Southwest Washington was created in 1984 to support and develop a stronger economy and better quality of life for Southwest Washington through philanthropic endeavors. With the endowment corpus currently exceeding $50 million, foundation funds are used to address unmet needs in Clark, Cowlitz and Skamania counties.
MacKay and Sposito hires COO
Eric Holmes has been appointed chief operating officer of MacKay and Sposito. Holmes most recently served as the city manager for the city of Battle Ground. He brings 15 years of experience, including 10 years of executive management experience in multidisciplinary environments involving organizational growth and development, long range/strategic planning, fiscal management and program development and implementation. Prior to his time with the city of Battle Ground, Holmes was the planning and development director at the city of Washougal. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Planning, Public Policy and Management with a minor in Business Administration. He also received a master’s in public administration from Lewis & Clark College.
Daybreak Youth Services appoints board members
Calvin Clark has been elected the Daybreak governing board president and Greg Page has been elected the Daybreak advisory board chairman of youth services. Clark previously worked as a pediatrician for the Vancouver Clinic. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of Washington and a medical degree from Tufts University. Page is a mold division manager at Columbia Machine where he has worked for more than 40 years.
Wells Fargo appoints regional banker
LeAnn Gilmore has been appointed regional bank private banker to serve customers in Vancouver, Camas, Washougal and Battle Ground. Gilmore joined the company in 1999 as a banker in Portland. She later served as a personal banker on Hayden Island and then as a branch manager in Vancouver. For the past three years she has served as manager of Wells Fargo’s Lacamas Center Branch. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota.
Vierck and Rakoski adds staff
Alana Byington, enrolled agent, has joined the accounting firm Vierck and Rakoski. Prior to joining the firm, Byington served as tax manager with a CPA firm in Portland.
MGH Assoc. adds three
Maria Cahill, Karen Kelley and Amey Rivera have joined MGH Assoc.
Cahill is a sustainable design leader with nearly 10 years of experience in civil engineering and landscape architecture. She brings a strong technical background and innovative design approach dedicated to sustainability.
Kelley is a civil designer. She has three years of experience in engineering with significant work in the development of quality analysis and quality assurance systems. She has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Michigan State University.
Rivera is the new marketing manager. She has more than 10 years of experience in client relations, business development and marketing. Prior to joining MGH, she was a senior marketer for a large regional engineering consulting firm. She holds a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on marketing and advertising management.
Greater Vancouver Chamber elects chair

Carol Keljo has been elected chairwoman of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Keljo is president and co-owner of Security Signs. She is a University of Washington graduate and a member of the Greater Clark County Rotary Club, Women In Action and Junior Achievement.

Washington Manufacturing Services names account manager
Ken Haas
Ken Haas has been named account manager for Clark and Cowlitz counties for Washington Manufacturing Services. Haas has been in engineering and manufacturing management for more than 30 years. He has a background in quality, product safety, conformity assessment, national and international accreditation programs and thorough knowledge of the certification marks and other credentials needed to gain access to global markets. Haas is a registered professional engineer, and a certified quality engineer, and previously served as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award examiner.
