Columbia Machine announces president
and CEO
Rick Goode has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Columbia Machine Inc. Goode has worked at Columbia Machine for the past 11 years, most recently as executive vice president. Previously he was vice president and general manager of Columbia’s palletizer division. Prior to that, he was general manager of Columbia/Okura LLC. He replaces Jerry Findley who is retiring from full time responsibilities after serving as president and CEO for the past nine years. Findley will continue on a reduced-hours basis to focus on business development projects and industry and customer programs. He will also remain a member of the board of directors. The two have been working together for nearly a year to ensure a seamless transition.
Clark College Trustees select interim president
Bob Knight has been named interim president at Clark College by the board of trustees. Knight joined Clark College in 2004 as vice president of administrative services, coming from private industry. He was named acting chief executive officer in August 2006. Prior to his time at Clark, he held positions as executive vice president for sales and services for a 200 member company in the dental industry and as corporate manager for real estate for Consolidated Freightways. Prior to this, he served more than 21 years as an infantry officer in the US Army. He received his bachelor’s degree in Engineering from West Point and earned an Executive MBA at Golden State University in San Francisco.
First Independent adds chief investment officer
Dan Yocham, CFA, has joined First Independent as chief investment officer. He brings years of investment experience to the bank. Yocham most recently served as vice president/real return product manager for PIMCO. He holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and economics from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Washington University. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and obtained the Series 7, 3 and 66 securities licenses.
Bank of Clark County promotes one, hires one
Kerry Baskin, real estate specialist, has been promoted to vice president in the credit administration department of Bank of Clark County. Baskin joined the bank in 2004. He has more than 20 years of experience in real estate including private mortgage insurance, commercial real estate lending and commercial appraising. Baskin is a general certified appraiser in Washington and Oregon; he also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Alaska.
Sandra Schoof has joined Bank of Clark County as a commercial loan processor in its loan processing department located at 1400 Washington St. in Vancouver. Formerly with Integra Telecom as an administrative assistant to the vice president of marketing, Schoof’s background includes experience working as a paralegal in the corporate and personal injury defense arenas.
Allure Hospitality recruits director of hotel operations
Rolanda Kindell has joined Allure Hospitality as director of hotel operations. Kindell has more than 23 years of hospitality experience as director of revenue, operations and assistant general manager at full service hotels such as The Benson, The Governor and The Heathman hotels in the Vancouver/Portland area, as well as the Providence Biltmore hotel in Providence, R.I.
SW Washington Red Cross Chapter makes changes
David Fenton has joined the American Red Cross Southwest Washington Chapter as the senior development director. Fenton’s background includes sales, advertising, nonprofit and newspaper management. He has also been a member of the Red Cross board in the past. Shirley Morgan has joined the staff as community relations director. She brings experience in communications, graphics and marketing. Kari Myklebust has ended her 19 year tenure in Red Cross emergency services.
Clark College hires communications specialist
Erica Schwenneker has joined Clark College as a communications specialist. Prior to joining the college, Schwenneker worked as the marketing director of Concordia University in Portland. She also has two years of experience as a managing editor of the Journal of the Oklahoma State Medical Association and has served as an account manager for Public Strategies, a public relations firm in Oklahoma City.
Bullivant hires litigator
Brian K. Weeks has joined the Vancouver office of Bullivant Houser Bailey PC as an associate in the commercial litigation group. He has experience in civil litigation matters, primarily in the insurance industry focusing on property damage, construction defects, product defects, breach of contract and subrogation from inception to resolution. He earned his law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University.

Hopper Dennis Jellison hires CAD technician
Ben R. Rutledge has joined Hopper Dennis Jellison, PLLC as a CAD technician. He holds an associate’s degree in drafting and previously worked in Idaho before relocating to Vancouver to join HDJ.

Devin Jackson has joined Regents Bank as a credit analyst. Jackson has a business degree from Gonzaga University and has spent the past year in the management training program in Regents Bank’s office in La Jolla, Calif.
Local engineer receives award
Stacy J. Frost, PE, of Hopper Dennis Jellison PLLC, has received the 2006 Young Engineer of the Year Award from the Oregon Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Frost has been active within the group since his time in college and is serving as the 2006/2007 president of the Oregon Section.
Blue Bird Transfer expands corporate relocation division
Liz Morris, director of employee relocation, will be expanding the employee relocation division of Blue Bird Transfer. Morris has held positions in the temporary staffing industry in management, sales and recruitment. She brings 15 years of experience in sales development, marketing and service within government and the private sector. She holds multiple certifications in management and sales development from a local business college.
Commissioners select land use, environmental analyst
The Board of Clark County Commissioners has named Troy Rayburn to advise and assist the commissioners on policy issues involving land use and the environment. Rayburn has been with the City of Aspen, Colo., since 2000. Three years prior to this, he worked in the Clark County Commissioners office. He is a graduate of Oregon State University and has taken graduate courses at the University of Oregon and Portland State University.
