Bob Whareham
New Clark County community bank president at Wells Fargo
Bob Whareham has been promoted to community bank president at Wells Fargo. He was previously district manager. Whareham joined the company in 1971 in Portland as a management trainee. He served in a variety of service operations positions in the branch and region level before being named a branch manager in Portland in 1984. He was promoted to community banking district manager in Southeast Portland in 1989 and transferred to the Clark County district manager position in 1991. Whareham holds a bachelor’s degree in administrative management from Central Washington University in Ellensberg. He also graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Kaiser appoints department chiefs
Mark Furin and Michael Alberts have been appointed as chiefs of their respective departments at Kaiser Permanente. Dr. Furin has been appointed chief of the Otolaryngology Department. He completed his residency at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. Dr. Alberts is the new chief of General Surgery. He completed his residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colo.
Harry DeWolf
SBA district director appointed
Harry DeWolf has been appointed as the U.S. Small Business Administration district director for the state of Oregon and Southwest Washington. DeWolf previously served as the deputy district director of Oregon. He joined the SBA in 2005 as deputy director of the SBA in the Oregon district office. He has a business degree from Oregon State University. Prior to his time at the SBA, DeWolf spent six years as the president and chief operating officer for an Oregon technical publications company.

Governor appoints commissioner to Washington’s Public Works Board
Steve Stuart, chairman of the Board of Clark County Commissioners, has been appointed to a four-year term on the state’s Public Works Board by Governor Chris Gregoire. The board consists of 13 members appointed by the Governor to represent cities, counties, utility districts and the general public.

Justin Lee has joined Techjet Imaging as a production assistant. Lee recently completed his Bachelor of Arts in digital technology and culture from Washington State University Vancouver.

Clark County Fire District 11 hires captain
Jesse Martin has joined Clark County Fire District 11 as its new captain. Martin began his career as a volunteer firefighter for Clark County Fire District 3 in 1993 and was hired as a full-time firefighter in 1998. He earned his Associate of Science degree from Portland Community College and is currently enrolled at Warner Pacific College.

Allstate Foundation awards agent
Keith Hallett was awarded the Agency Hands in the Community Award by the Allstate Foundation for his commitment to volunteering in the community. With this award comes a $500 grant from the Allstate Foundation for the American Diabetes Association where Hallett volunteers.

NewCross Technologies secures industry experts
Stanley Hanks, Steven Owens and Iain Rae have joined NewCross Technologies. Hanks will be the chairman and chief executive officer. He brings significant Internet technology and telecommunications experience leading start-up efforts for Enron Broadband, Genuity and MFS Datanet. He will also continue to serve as chief telecom strategist for Columbia Ventures Corp.
Owens will work as the chief operating officer. He previously led EdgeNet Communications and OmniCon Technology. He also pioneered the design and development of early VoIP networks and specializes in next generation switching products.
Rae will be the executive vice president of sales and marketing. Most recently he worked with Wiltel Communications where he served as vice president of carrier sales. Rae’s multi-level background also includes technical experience with mobile, CLEC, data, voice, IP communications and operations.
