Bob Moser receives top industry award
Port of Vancouver USA Commission President Robert J. Moser has been named the recipient of the Life Member Award from the Washington Public Ports Association. Moser, who will retire on Dec. 31, has served 18 years on the port commission, making him the fourth longest serving commissioner in the port’s 93-year history. During his tenure on the WPPA executive committee, Moser assisted in the formation of the WPPA Educational Foundation as an advisor, fundraiser and vice president.
Moser has also volunteered with the Fort Vancouver Seafarers Center. He founded and coordinated the annual Seafarers Center International Festival. He also led the effort in 1995 to move the Seafarers Center from downtown Vancouver to its current location at Terminal 4.
Moser received the 2002 Val Joshua Racial Justice Award from the YWCA of Clark County. Moser came to the port near the end of his 32-year career as an administrator at Clark College.
