Clark College appoints new dean
Ted Kotsakis has been named dean of business and technology at Clark College.
Kotsakis received an Associate of Applied Science degree at Columbia Basin College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and metallurgy at Central Washington University, and a master’s degree in adult education from Oregon State University, concentrating in community college administration. He has completed course work in fulfillment of his doctorate degree in college supervision and leadership from Oregon State University.
As an educator, Kotsakis has worked at Columbia Basin College in Pasco and was an instructor and division chair at Lower Columbia College in Longview. His work on behalf of Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake took him to Germany evaluating educational opportunities at U.S. military bases. He served as an administrator in the mechanical technologies division at Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore., then accepted a position as a program manager for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.

Daybreak hires development director
Donna Wiench is the new development director at Daybreak Youth Services in Vancouver. Previously Wiench served as development director for Columbia Land Trust, and was an award-winning reporter and on-air host for KPLU, an NPR affiliate in the Seattle area.

FVRL hires director of technology division
Fort Vancouver Regional Library District has established a new technology division and named Kwang Kye as its director.
Kye previously was information technology manager for nine years at Oak Park Public Library in Illinois. He received his master of library science degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and earned his undergraduate degree in computer science at Northeastern Illinois University.

FVRL names foundation vice-chair
Linda Thomas, corporate development coordinator for The Management Group Inc. has been appointed vice-chair for the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation.
Thomas has been in the commercial real estate industry for the past fourteen years. She manages the commercial department for The Management Group and is currently involved in the marketing, leasing and property management of the Battle Ground Village project. She is also on the executive board for the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce.

Clark County Family YMCA elects new member
Randy Scheel has been elected to a three-year term on the board of managers of the Clark County Family YMCA. Scheel has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in studies of the future from the University of Houston. He also serves on the governmental affairs committee of the Washington Health Care Association and is a member of The Cascade Society of Southwest Washington Medical Center.
Scheel is associate administrator of Fort Vancouver Convalescent Center, co-owner and administrator of Caretique, and principle of Antici, a health care strategy consulting organization. In 2001, he co-founded and served as the executive director of the Association of Professional Futurists.

Vancouver NAI NBS office names broker
NAI Norris, Beggs & Simpson has added new broker Kevin Putney to the Vancouver office as part of the Capital Asset Group, specializing in investment sales of retail properties.
Putney spent the last four years with Marcus & Millichap as an investment sales and research representative. He holds a degree in business administration with a focus in real estate from Washington State University.

Michael W. Minnick of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network’s Vancouver office, has recently earned another designation. With a CASL designation, Minnick has completed one of the most comprehensive curriculums available addressing the many financial and lifestyle considerations affecting both seniors in retirement and individuals preparing for retirement. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Eastern Illinois University. He is as a Kiwanis International Fellow, a planned giving committee member with the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington and is a member of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

Marilyn Newton, a life long resident of Clark County, has joined the team at Family Care Services as their Care Services Specialist. The Vancouver-based company provides in home care.
Nautilus Inc. appoints head of global sales
Nautilus Inc. has appointed long-time sporting goods executive Timothy Joyce to the newly formed position of senior vice president of global sales. Joyce most recently was president and chief operating officer of HO Sports.
Joyce was with Nike Inc. for 19 years where he progressed to serve as director of European sales, and as vice president of global sales. He was president of Internet sporting goods retailer fogdog.com from 1999 to 2000, and served as executive vice president of retail and wholesale sales for Adidas America from 2001 to 2004.
Nautilus adds board director
The board of directors of Nautilus Inc. elected retail and information technology leader Evelyn Follit to the company’s board of directors.
Follit operates Follit Assoc., a corporate technology and executive assessment practice, after serving in corporate leadership roles with RadioShack Corp., ACNielsen, Dun & Bradstreet, ITT and IBM.
