Randy Mueller

Port of Ridgefield focuses on business development

Randy Mueller has joined the Port of Ridgefield in a new position as director of business development.

The position was created to strengthen the port’s strategic investments and attract more high-quality jobs in its 57-square-mile district. In the new position, Mueller will oversee projects like the construction of the Pioneer Street rail overpass. He will also assist in redeveloping the Ridgefield waterfront and other port properties in the Discovery Corridor.

Mueller worked previously as an independent government affairs consultant in Clark County. He is a graduate of WSU Vancouver, and is enrolled in Portland State University’s graduate program for regional economic development. Mueller was a 2006 recipient of the Vancouver Business Journal’s Accomplished and Under 40 Award.

Russell D. Garrett

Bullivant appoints shareholder-in-charge

Russell D. Garrett has been chosen as shareholder-in-charge at Bullivant Houser Bailey’s Vancouver office. Garrett succeeds Richard G. Matson, who remains a shareholder. Garrett joined the firm in 1997 and became a shareholder four years later. He will continue his practice representing creditors and bankruptcy trustees, and works in commercial litigation, real estate and general business matters in western Washington and Oregon. He has a law degree from Willamette University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon.

Matthew Bisturis

Schwabe adds Vancouver attorney  

Schwabe, Williamson and Wyatt recently hired Matthew Bisturis to practice real estate and business law at its Vancouver office. Previously, Bisturis was a clerk for the Oregon Department of Justice and a legal extern at Mentor Graphics. Bisturis was a summer associate at Schwabe in 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puget Sound and a juris doctor degree from the University of Oregon School of Law.  

Colleen Guest

SWMC hires ed director

Colleen Guest has been named director of clinical education at Southwest Washington Medical Center. Guest has been a registered nurse since 1986, working at Southwest since 1991 in several capacities. The department she will direct handles clinical orientation for nursing and support services. Guest has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Portland and a master’s degree in nursing from Washington State University.

Tony Ton

Riverview names senior officer

Tony Ton has been named vice president and commercial loan officer at Riverview Community Bank in Vancouver. Ton will work from the bank’s downtown office at Riverview Tower. He has more than 10 years of experience in commercial and retail banking locally. Ton holds a master’s of international management degree from Portland State University.

BethAnn Bock

BOCC adds manager

BethAnn Bock has taken a newly created position as residential lending relationship manager at Bank of Clark County’s Real Estate Division in Vancouver. She has 11 years of experience in mortgage lending and 15 years of experience in bank branch operations and management in Oregon and Washington. Bock graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration. She is on the advisory board at Clark County Skills Center and has been an active hospice volunteer for hospice organizations.

Kimberly Fuhrer

Fuhrer earns CPM title

Kimberly Fuhrer, a manager at NAI Norris, Beggs and Simpson Property in Vancouver, has received a certified property manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. She completed eight courses and several exams to earn the title. Fuhrer joined the Vancouver office of NAI Norris, Beggs and Simpson in 2006. She worked previously in Portland as Milestone Management’s vice president and director of operations, and as manager of 1,759 residential units for Simpson Property Group. Fuhrer also holds real estate licenses in Washington and Oregon and is education committee chair for 2008 with Chapter 29 of the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Clark College Foundation hires three directors

Three new fundraising professionals have joined the staff of the Clark College Foundation. Susie Kasper, Daniel Lee and Chris Mildner will all serve in newly created positions. Kasper is now director of annual giving, and has more than 20 years of experience in development and marketing. She has worked in the Pacific Northwest for Providence Health Systems and The Salvation Army. Lee is director of major and planned gifts and studied chemistry at University College London. In the U.S. he was a financial advisor for American Express Financial for 10 years, and has led development and fundraising efforts for local schools. Chris Mildner is director of prospect research. She has worked in the field for more than 16 years at five major universities. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and public relations from Rutgers University.

William Van Dusen Jr.

Clark College names director

William Van Dusen Jr. is Clark College’s new director of advising and counseling. Most recently he was assistant director of advising for Regis University’s school for professional studies in Denver, and was interim director of student services there in 2006. He was director of recruitment for 10 years at the Community College of Denver and assistant to the dean of student services at Front Range Community College in Boulder. Van Duesen was also an assistant and associate professor of various subjects at four schools in Colorado. He practiced law in Longmont, Colo., and later was deputy district attorney in Walsenburg, Colo., assistant city attorney in Arvada, Colo., and assistant attorney general in Denver.
