Philip A. Parker

Governor appoints Vancouver electrician

Gov. Chris Gregoire recently appointed Philip A. Parker of Vancouver to the Washington State Transportation Commission. Parker has been a journeyman electrician for 35 years and is an electrical apprenticeship instructor. He is on the Clark County Public Facilities District Board and the Washington State Electrical Board. He is a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 48, where he is on the executive board. Parker is also the chair of the Labor Roundtable of Southwest Washington and a member of the executive board of the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council. He is a member of the Tech Prep Advisory Committee for Clark College, the Columbia River Economic Development Council and the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves 604th Combat Engineers and 674th Transportation Company.

Craig Armstrong

Medical center names general counsel

Craig Armstrong, a partner with Miller Nash of Washington and Oregon, has been appointed as Southwest Washington Medical Center’s general counsel in Vancouver. Armstrong’s legal background is in health care, business, and employment law and labor relations. Armstrong has been with Miller Nash since 1992, and is licensed to practice in Washington and Oregon. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California in Berkeley, a law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He is chair of the Oregon State Bar Labor and Employment Law section. He is a certified senior professional with the Human Resource Certification Institute and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

 

Mark Brandon, Jerry Boehm

First Independent appoints chief officers

First Independent Bank of Vancouver recently appointed a new chief credit officer and vice president.

Mark Brandon has been named chief credit officer. He was previously the bank’s executive vice president. He is on the board of trustees for the Washington State University Foundation, and is active with many of its committees. He has served on boards for the Columbia River Economic Development Council, United Way of Portland, Southwest Washington Independent Forward Thrust and the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington State University and graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School with honors.

Jerry Boehm will serve as vice president and manager of a new community banking department for small business clients. Boehm previously managed a commercial lending team for Banner Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Oregon State University and graduated from the National Commercial Lending School and the Pacific Coast Banking School with honors.

Bergen Peterson

Columbia CU names new SVP

Bergen Peterson has been promoted to a new position as senior vice president of strategic planning and organizational development at Columbia Credit Union in Vancouver. She has worked 14 years in the financial industry, including eight at Columbia. She was previously senior vice president and chief information officer at Columbia. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Portland State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Oregon in Eugene. She is involved with the Washington Credit Union League’s audit and policy committee and is an active community volunteer.  

Darcy Altizer, Jill Homme

EOCF names manager, board chair

Vancouver’s Educational Opportunities for Children and Families recently named a new board chair and internal manager.

Jill Homme has been named chair of the board of directors. She will also chair the organization’s human resources committee and will serve on its finance and audit committee. Homme works as academic coordinator for graduate programs in the education department at Washington State University Vancouver. She is a 2003 alumna of Leadership Clark County and has served on the board for the Vancouver Counseling Center. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Pre-Law from the University of California in Los Angeles, and is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in public Affairs at WSU Vancouver.

Darcy Altizer has been promoted to community partnership and resource development manager. She is an Ambassador for the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Altizer graduated from Seattle Pacific University’s first Collaborative Leadership Institute and holds a Bachelor of Science in business and leadership degree from Marylhurst University in Oregon.

Diana Fitzpatrick

Riverview appoints new VP

Diana Fitzpatrick has been named vice president and cash management officer at Riverview Community Bank in Vancouver. Fitzpatrick has 25 years of local banking experience. She is a member of the Association for Financial Professionals Northwest Chapter and was on the board for Southwest Washington Independent Forward Thrust. Fitzpatrick is a certified treasury professional and a 2007 graduate of Leadership Clark County.

Nautilus appoints four

Nautilus Inc. of Vancouver recently announced four appointments as part of its restructuring plan.

James A. Heidenreich joined the company as senior vice president of global marketing and chief marketing officer. Heidenreich was previously vice president of marketing for Riddell Sports Group Inc., now Easton-Bell Sports of Van Nuys, Calif. He has a Master of Business Administration in market research from the University of Oregon in Eugene.

Aaron Brotherton is director of direct response TV and creative development. He was previously vice president of creative development for Razor and Tie Entertainment in New York. Brotherton has an arts degree in Music Theory and Composition from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va.

Caroline “CJ” Howe is in a new position as senior vice president and general manager. She joins from the Portland office of American Sporting Goods Corp. She has an economics degree from Pomona College in Claremont, Calif.

Kenneth Fish is senior vice president and general manager. He was previously vice president of global finance at Nautilus, and directed the pending acquisition of Xiamen-based Land America. He has a business administration degree from Oregon State University, and is a certified management accountant.
