Erica Rainford

Port of Woodland names executive director

Erica Rainford is the new executive director of the Port of Woodland.

Rainford was a Woodland City Councilor from the spring of 2005 until December 2007. She’s a native of Woodland, which she said gives her a natural interest in bringing smart economic development to the city.

One of Rainford’s largest projects is Woodland’s share of the federal dredging of the Columbia River. The project will make room for larger vessels on the Columbia from the Vancouver-Portland area to Astoria, Ore.

“I’m excited to take the port to a new level and increase our industrial base,” she said.

Rainford co-owned Blackwater Café in Woodland from 2002 until 2004, when the business sold. She also was a real estate broker at Woodland Real Estate.

Don Schroeder

Schroeder hits 20-year mark

Don Schroeder has reached his 20th year with Kelso-based Schlecht Construction. Schroeder started as a carpenter foreman in 1987 and is now a project superintendent. He has overseen the construction of many of Schlecht’s church projects, as well as Cascade Park Animal Hospital, Curt Warner Chevrolet, Companion Pet Clinic, Bank of Clark County and the current remodel of the Vancouver Moose Lodge.

 

Corey Balkan, Dan Spjut

Two join CHHH board

Two members have been added to the Community Home Health and Hospice board of directors in Longview.

Corey Balkan is a partner with Interwest Benefit Consultants in Longview. He holds bachelors’ degrees in public relations and business administration from Central Washington University.

Dan Spjut serves as the foundation committee president for CHHH. He retired as regional purchasing manager from Weyerhaeuser Co. in Federal Way, Wash., and studied business at CWU and the University of Washington in Seattle.

Physical therapist earns certification

Lisa Nienstaedt has been credentialed as an assistive technology practitioner. She is a physical therapist for outpatient rehabilitation services at Southwest Washington Medical Center. She was certified through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America.

Davidson Insurance increases staff

Patricia Spicer is a new customer service agent at Davidson Insurance in Vancouver. She is a licensed insurance agent with more than 30 years of local experience.

 

Dan Frechtling, Ross Johnston

Dotster hires two leaders

Dan Frechtling and Ross Johnston are the newest leaders at Dotster Inc., a web domain registration and hosting company based in Vancouver.

Frechtling is Dotster’s chief marketing officer and was senior vice president of marketing and business development at Knowledge Learning. He also was vice president of strategic planning and director of worldwide marketing for Mattel Inc., was vice president at Stamps.com and worked in management at TV Corp., General Mills and McKinsey and Co.

Johnston is Dotster’s new vice president of business development. He was senior director of business development for CNET Networks, worked with LexisNexis Corp. in market planning and business development and was a manager at Neoforma Inc., Eclipse Technologies and Barclays Global Investors.

HCO names board president

Ken Cole is the new board president for Healthcare Communicators of Oregon, which serves Southwest Washington and Oregon. Cole is the manager of public affairs and communications at Southwest Washington Medical Center.

 

Aleksandr Lobkov

Kirby honors local distributor

Aleksandr Lobkov has been recognized by Kirby World Headquarters of Cleveland for outstanding performance as a Kirby distributor in Vancouver.

 

Accounting firm adds four

Vancouver public accounting firm Jan Stockton P.C. has added four to its accounting and business consulting team.

Cynda Howell was most recently a controller for the Housing Authorities Risk Retention Pool. She was an auditor for Price Waterhouse Coopers and managed her own public accounting firm in the Rogue Valley for 14 years. Howell is a certified public accountant with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Susan Coolich has been an accountant in the Vancouver area for 16 years, most recently at Moss Adams. She is a certified public accountant with a master’s degree in taxation and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and accounting, both from Portland State University.

Ellen Eakins has joined the firm as a bookkeeper and will assist in developing its new life planning service for individuals.

Debi Cardoza has come on board in support services, specializing in administration and marketing.

 

NAI-Norris, Beggs and Simpson promotes four

Four employees at the Vancouver office of NAI Norris, Beggs and Simpson were promoted this month.

Industrial broker Garret Harper was promoted to senior salesperson. He has a civil engineering degree from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Kimberly Fuhrer was promoted to senior property manager. She joined the company’s Vancouver office in May 2006 and has been a property manager since 1993.

Debra McCracken is now associate vice president. She joined the firm in 2001 as a property manager.

Sara Brunicardi became a senior property management assistant and now works out of the firm’s Vancouver office. She was previously an office associate.

 

BOCC adds four to front line

Bank of Clark County has gained four customer service representatives.

Matt Johnson was most recently a lead teller at a local bank. He is studying criminal justice at the University of Phoenix.

Anna Mishuk has a background in personal banking and studied financial customer service at the Clark County Skills Center.

Larisa Chumak was a bookkeeper at Vancouver Elite Gymnastics Academy in Camas.

Bethany Curtis formerly worked as a restaurant server and is a licensed massage therapist.
