John Callegari

First Independent appoints chief investment officer

John Callegari was promoted to chief investment officer at Vancouver-based First Independent May 1.

He joined the bank’s wealth management team in 2007 as a vice president and senior portfolio manager. In his new position, Callegari will lead First Independent’s asset management group, which includes three financial analysts and manages more than half a billion dollars in assets for First Independent clients and the bank’s own portfolio.

Callegari has worked in investments for nine years. He received designation as a chartered financial analyst in 2005 and is a graduate of Santa Clara University.

Callegari lives in Camas and serves on the investment committees for the Clark County Skills Center Foundation and the Vancouver National Historic Reserve.

 

Schuyler Hoss

Gov. Gregoire appoints regional rep

Schuyler Hoss was appointed Gov. Chris Gregoire’s new Southwest Washington regional representative, replacing Jim Jacks. Hoss will be the primary contact for communication between regional constituencies and the governor’s office. He previously was president and principal consultant for Vancouver-based Home Healthcare Technology Assoc. Hoss also was an elected school board member for Evergreen Public Schools. He and his family have lived in Southwest Washington for more than 20 years and he is active in the National Association for Home Care and the National School Board Association.

 

Carmen Villarma

Villarma named woman executive of the year

Carmen Villarma, president of Vancouver-based The Management Group Inc., was named woman executive of the year by the Portland Business Journal. She was honored among leaders of companies earning $25 million or less. Villarma founded TMG with two employees in 1985 and now the property management and real estate firm has offices in Vancouver, Portland and Kennewick and is developing the Battle Ground Village commercial center. Villarma was appointed by Gov. Chris Gregoire to the board of directors of the Washington State Economic Development Finance Authority in 2006. She serves on First Independent’s board of directors, Washington State University’s diversity council and chairs the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

Tracy Maloney, Doug Strom

Nautilus promotes two

Vancouver-based fitness company Nautilus Inc. promoted two of its leaders in April. Tracy Maloney is now vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific and Latin America, handling the company’s relations with those regions. Maloney was vice president of customer care for five years and has been with Nautilus for 20 years. He holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from Southern Nazarene University.

Doug Strom is now vice president and general manager of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, handling the company’s relations with those regions. He has worked for Nautilus since 1991 and was its general manager of relations with EMEA and managing director of relations with Germany and Austria. He holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Washington.

E. Hunt Coracci

Columbia River Bank names business leader

E. Hunt Coracci has joined the Vancouver branch of The Dalles-based Columbia River Bank as senior vice president and business banking team leader. He has worked in banking for 41 years, including 14 years in the Vancouver area. Coracci graduated from Nichols College and the American Bankers Association’s National Commercial Lending School. He is a member of the Vancouver Sunrise Rotary Club, the Vancouver National Historic Reserve Trust and Friends of Vancouver Mounted Police.  

 

John Cameron

First Independent promotes manager

John Cameron was promoted to investment advisory and brokerage services manager at Vancouver-based First Independent. He previously was vice president and senior relationship manager for the bank’s wealth management group. Cameron has worked in finance and investments for more than 13 years and graduated from Bucknell University. He is on the board of directors for the local March of Dimes and the Vancouver-based Alexa Dyer Life Challenge Award Foundation. Cameron was the founding director of the Val Ogden Center (formerly Janus of Southwest Washington) and is an alumnus of Leadership Clark County.

 

Daniel Lee

Foundation director earns executive certification

Daniel Lee has been designated as a Certified Fund Raising Executive by Alexandria, Va.-based CFRE International. He is the Clark College Foundation’s director of major and planned gifts and was a financial adviser for New York City-based American Express Financial Services for 10 years. Lee graduated from University College London.

 

Terry L. Goodman

HDJ adds surveyor, services

Terry L. Goodman has joined the design group at Vancouver-based Hopper Dennis Jellison. With the addition of Goodman, the engineering, planning and landscape architecture firm is adding land surveying to its roster. Goodman will direct land surveying and has worked in that field for 30 years. He worked 23 years in the Pacific Northwest, including 20 years running his own companies and eight full survey crews. Goodman is a registered professional land surveyor in seven states.

 

Jeri L. Boston

Lacamas hires insurance and investment rep

Jeri L. Boston has joined Camas-based Lacamas Community Credit Union as a registered representative for Lacamas Insurance and Investments. She will work from the credit union’s Terrace Branch in Camas. Boston has more than 20 years of experience in the investment, wholesale and retail sales industries. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in retail management from Oregon State University.
