Disabilities board gains business owner
Tony Johnson was appointed to the Clark County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board by the Board of Clark County Commissioners. His three-year term begins Jan. 1. Johnson has been principal of TJ and Assoc., a La Center-based human resources and executive recruitment firm, for seven years. For four years, he was co-director of the supported employment program for Lake Oswego-based Employers Overload in Vancouver. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Delaware. The advisory board directs and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners relating to developmental disabilities services. It also provides community leadership on improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of community developmental disabilities programs.

BOCC makes promotions, adds to lending staff
Vancouver-based Bank of Clark County has promoted two employees within its commercial and industrial lending department. Justus Poling was promoted to vice president and commercial loan officer. He was previously an assistant loan officer at BOCC, where he has worked since May 2006. Prior to that he was a credit analyst for U.S. Bancorp in Portland. Poling holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Oregon State University and is a candidate for designation as a chartered financial analyst.
Andrew Alexander was named assistant vice president and assistant loan officer after interning at the bank in 2006. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from Washington State University.

Clinic gains naturopathic physician
Dr. Sheryl Wagner has joined Hazel Dell-based Natural Choice Health Care as a naturopathic physician. Wagner practiced previously at Portland-based Healing Arts Clinic. She specializes in treating autism, attention deficit hyperactivity and asperger disorders. Wagner earned a naturopathic doctorate degree from Portland-based National College of Natural Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in international agricultural development from the University of California, Davis.

Comcast exec to serve Southwest Washington
Paul Green is the new Southwest Washington business account executive for Comcast Corp. Green previously worked in the company’s residential division. His background includes management and sales for small- and medium-sized businesses and database design and consulting. He is a member of Business Networking International.

Port of Vancouver names administrative assistant
Chrissy Whitters joined the Port of Vancouver as an administrative assistant in December. She held a similar role in the accounting department of Vancouver-based HDJ Design Group and was an office manager and project coordinator for an excavation company in Alaska.

Miyamoto gains project engineer
Steve Erwin has joined the Vancouver office of California-based Miyamoto International Inc. as a project engineer. Erwin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Gonzaga University. He is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Oregon and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.

Engineering firm chooses structural engineer
Jon Ward joined the staff of Vancouver-based Roggenkamp Erickson and Assoc. as a design engineer. He worked as a structural engineering consultant for more than seven years and is a licensed engineer in Oregon and California. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering and a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies from the University of Utah.

Misty Davis has joined the Vancouver branch of Lake Oswego-based The Hasson Co. Realtors as a real estate agent. Davis previously worked for Portland-based Triad Speakers Inc., most recently as an inside sales and customer service manager. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in management and supply and logistics management from Portland State University and is a member of the Clark County Association of Realtors.

Doctor earns neurology certification
Dr. George A. Veech was board certified in neurology this fall. He has worked for Vancouver Neurologists since 2006 and worked in Cape Town, South Africa, as a staff physician at Grove Schuur Hospital and at Red Cross Children’s Hospital.

Chamber adds four to staff
Anita Blanchette, Jenny Petracca, Darcy Altizer and Susie Bauder joined the staff of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Blanchette is an administrative coordinator who worked five years at Summit View Church in Vancouver. She is a graduate of the Vancouver-based International Air and Hospitality Academy. Petracca is a sales assistant and worked eight years at Portland-based Shelter Products Inc., assisting the sales team and general manager.
Altizer is membership services director and worked six years for Vancouver-based Educational Opportunities for Children and Families, most recently as community partnership and resource development manager. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business and leadership from Marylhurst University and is a 2009 Leadership Clark County participant.
Bauder is on the GVCC’s programs and events team and was a large-scale travel package planner for California-based Meetings Plus.
